Nokia Betalabs has released a new GPS navigation application for Nokia Symbian OS platform, Ovi Maps Beta.
Ovi Maps can find you current location, places nearby, addresses that you are looking for and also able to save all your favourite places.
This Ovi Maps can be works in offline services by download the country map via Map Loader. If you are by online, you will be able to check the weather forecasts, events running around and all explore premium travel content by Lonely Planet and Michelin for over 1000 destinations.
The changed or upgrades from the previous release was;
Improved application start up
Brand new menu with one touch access to content and services
New and improved one-box search
New features in car navigation services like "Drive home" and "Track Me"
New features in the pedestrian navigation services like "Walk home" and "Track Me"
Text-to speech for voice guidance in car and pedestrian navigation.
Currently the Ovi Maps Beta works with S60 5th OS which are Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5800 Navigation and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
